Opened in 1904 as the Binghamton Public Library as a gift from Andrew Carnegie and later renamed the Broome County Public Library, this institution was designed to serve the community as both a community center and public library. The first floor of the library houses a collection of 14,000 books, ranging from fiction and non-fiction books, audiobooks, eBooks, and audio-visual titles, while the second floor houses an auditorium, the Broome County Historical Society, and the Binghamton Museum of Fine Arts.
