Bristol Valley Theater is a professional theater in the town of Naples, New York, in the heart of the Finger Lakes. The theatre was originally founded in 1964 as Bristol Valley Playhouse. After twenty-two years, its management was taken over by a not-profit foundation The Friends of Bristol Valley Playhouse. In 1991, the Friends purchased the vacated Trinity Federated Church on Main Street in Naples and converted it into the theatre’s new home, which opened its doors for the 1992 summer season. The theatre’s mission is to produce theater that examines, enlightens and enriches the human condition for a rural and regional audience; to offer to the public a variety of performing arts; to provide professional theatre arts training to young actors and, when needed, to offer scholarships for that training.
