The museum is housed inside of a historic building that was once a hardware store and is committed to the preservation and interpretation of the capital city of North Carolina’s history while also envisioning the city’s future. The museum features both permanent and temporary exhibits about the resources, places, and people of the City of Raleigh, maintaining a collection of around five thousand artifacts.
