Dweebs Brooklyn is one of Bushwick's newest coffee shop offerings, opened in 2015 by owners Mike Golfo and Will Douglas. The Dekalb Avenue cafe's name is a reference to and rejection of the upscale nature of trendy coffee culture of the early 21st century, promising customers an ego-free, high-quality coffee experience. Unpretentious espresso beverages use beans roasted by local NYC company Spectrum Coffees, complemented by a selection of black, green, red, and herbal tea offerings. A simple cafe fare menu emphasizes favorites such as chia pudding, avocado toast, and bagel sandwiches, with bread and pastries sourced from bakers L'imprimerie. Board game nights are hosted at the cafe each Thursday nights, and rotating displays of artwork are showcased each month.
