The festival, which was established over four decades ago by the Brighton Neighborhood Association, strives to reflect the neighborhood's diverse population through a diverse array of performances, food, and family-friendly activities. Multiple stages highlight live music and entertainment performances throughout the one-day festival, which is held each year on a Sunday at the end of August. Children's rides are also offered, along with food vendors serving up international cuisine options. Visitors should note that while the festival is free to enter, many attractions require a purchase or ticketed upcharge.
