The Barnegat Light Museum is located within the Barnegat Lighthouse State Park and is home to the original First Order Flashing Lens of the Barnegat Light Lighthouse, built by Augustin Fresnel.

The lighthouse itself was built in 1857 and 1858, and the historic lens was removed in 1927, it was returned in 1954 and is now the major highlights of the Barnegat Light Museum. The museum also displays photographs, replicas, and artifacts related to the history of Long Beach Island and the town of Barnegat Light, including the area’s fishing industry. Guests can also explore the Museum Gardens throughout the year.
