Best Time to Visit Atlantic Highlands, NJ
From experience, I always recommend coming between late spring and early fall (May to October). That’s when you’ll catch the best weather for hikes, boat rides, and patio dining. Summer has that easy coastal energy, while fall brings gorgeous foliage and crisp views from the overlooks. You really can’t go wrong with either.
How to Get to Atlantic Highlands, NJ
- By Car: I’ve made the drive from NYC in about an hour—just hop on the Garden State Parkway or Route 36 and you’re there.
- By Ferry: I love taking the Seastreak Ferry from Manhattan. You’ll get waterfront views the whole way, and it drops you right in town.
- By Train: I’ve also taken NJ Transit’s North Jersey Coast Line to Red Bank or Middletown—then it’s just a short Uber or taxi ride to Atlantic Highlands.
