Bullhead Mountain is one of the hidden gems of North Carolina peaks. With a summit of 5,930 feet and a location just north of Asheville, Bullhead Mountain is a great destination for a peaceful, solitary hike. The Mountains to Sea Trail will lead hikers close to the summit, although the rest of the trip to the top will need to be done with a bit of trailblazing through the brush. Hikers should note that the southern and eastern sides of Bullhead Mountain are restricted areas, as they are part of the Asheville Watershed Land, although walking the boundary of this land is acceptable.
