The Cascades is a popular waterfall attraction in Sparks Foundation County Park, Jackson, Michigan. The man-made falls, created in 1932, are brightly illuminated and choreographed and are providing the background for live concerts and special events. On Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day, the fireworks add to the magic of this place. The falls consist of six fountains, three reflecting pools 30 by 90 feet in size and 16 waterfalls. Only 11 are illuminated. 90 LED rope lights are providing the illumination. On each side of the falls are 126 steps that allow visitors to climb to the top. The walkway passes by the three reflecting pools. The falls were built by William Sparks, who was inspired by the Magic Fountain of Montjuic in Barcelona, Spain.

Chateau Aeronautique Winery is a local winery in Jackson, Michigan that got its interesting name from the fact that it was founded in an airplane hangar on a grass runway north of Jackson known as the 'Airpark'. The winery and the elegant tasting room were overlooking the runway for nine years until the winery moved in 2017 to a new 8,000 square foot facility in the Irish Hills. The main reason for the move to the 26-acre property was the desire to grow winery’s own grapes. The new tasting room has a 6,000 square foot outdoor seating area and more than 100 parking spaces. The Airpark remains the winery’s boutique venue where guests can tour the hangar and cellar and taste the wines. The Airpark venue also host concerts, weddings and other larger events.

West Texas Barbeque Co. is a rustic, no-frills spot where folks in Jackson, Michigan go when they feel for authentic Texas barbecue. West Texas started in 1985 on a street corner and grew into one of the best barbeque joints in Michigan. The counter-serve joint was modeled after some of the authentic BBQ Joints in Texas. The tables are mix and match and the chairs came out of a going-out-of business Mexican restaurant. There are only twenty-four seats in the "dining room" and thirty-two more outside on the picnic tables, when the weather permits. What brings folks in is not the décor or the scenic view of the gravel parking lot but the tantalizing smell of smoked and grilled meats. The barbeque pits are fired using seasoned oak and hickory, and the meats are cooked slowly until each brisket, sausage or rib is cooked to perfection.
