The Martha's Vineyard Agricultural Society was established in 1858, and it has been at its current location in West Tisbury since the mid-1990s when it was moved to accommodate its growth. The society is a key part of the island's history and society, but that's far from being the only reason to host a wedding on its stunning 21-acre property. Ceremonies are usually held outside on the beautiful grounds, but when it comes time for the reception, couples can move the party inside the Agricultural Hall, a century-old post and beam barn that was painstakingly relocated from New Hampshire.

2. Old Whaling Church, Edgartown Liturgical Arts Center

Widely regarded as one of the state's best examples of Greek Revival architecture, the Old Whaling Church, Edgartown Liturgical Arts Center
is a historic church that was constructed in 1843 for the town's Methodist whaling captains. The church is one of the most important landmarks in the area, and these days, it's also used as a lovely ceremony space for weddings with up to 470 guests. The interior of the building boasts an elegant curved ceiling and a stunning trompe l'oeil mural, and a restored pipe organ and beautiful Steinway grand piano are available for use.

4. Landfall Restaurant

Constructed out of wood salvaged from old buildings and shipwrecks, Landfall Restaurant is a traditional seafood restaurant located right on the water in Woods Hole. The restaurant dates back to 1946, and the interior is decorated with historic harpoons, oil lamps, rows, and other ocean-themed artifacts that have been collected over the years, creating a unique nautical atmosphere. A semi-private dining room is available for groups of up to 45 people, and of course, food and beverages are provided by the talented restaurant kitchen staff. If desired, couples can work with the chef to create a personalized menu.

Built in 1840 for a local entrepreneur, the Dr. Daniel Fisher House is a stately Federal-style home now managed by the Martha's Vineyard Preservation Trust. The interior of the house has four rooms suitable for wedding receptions, and it can hold up to 50 guests for an evening of dinner and dancing. Couples who are planning a larger celebration can also make use of the beautiful outdoor terrace and lawn, which can increase the venue's capacity to approximately 250 guests. A catering kitchen is available on-site, and couples are welcome to bring in whatever caterers they like.

8. Grange Hall

The former home of the Martha's Vineyard Agricultural Society, Grange Hall is a historic post-and-beam barn that dates back to 1859. Grange halls like this one have played an important role in American rural societies for generations, particularly when it comes to hosting community events, and the building is perfectly suited to hosting wedding ceremonies and receptions. The first floor of the hall consists of a large open room that can accommodate up to 150 seated guests, and there is also a stage on the second floor that is available for an additional fee. The hall can only be rented between April and November.
