Patapsco Valley State Park is a 16,043-acre public recreation area located along the Patapsco River, 31 miles from the city of Baltimore, Maryland. The park has eight developed recreational areas. Visitors can enjoy hiking, camping, fishing, canoeing, horseback riding, and mountain bike riding. There are pavilions for picnicking for small or large groups.

The park has more than 200 miles of trails, 70 miles of which are well maintained. The trails, single or multiple use, are accessible from many parts of Patapsco Park. The park is Maryland's first state park and is managed and run by the Maryland Department of Natural Resources.
