Perfectly nestled in a forest clearing, the Yurt on Chebeague Island is hard to beat for a back-to-nature romantic getaway. The yurt is surrounded by 16 private acres of woods belonging to the owners, who will fetch you from the ferry terminal when you arrive on the island. It is easy to explore the entire island on foot and you can buy fresh organic vegetables at a near-by farm. Although you will feel as though you are completely off grid, the comfortable yurt has power for lights and device charging and you can pick up a Wi-Fi signal near the host’s house. There is also an outdoor hot-water shower and a composting toilet.
