Everyone knows that Kentucky is the home of bourbon, and when you visit the Kentucky Artisan Distillery in Crestwood you can see exactly how the perfect artisan bourbon is made, entirely by hand. When the distillery was established in 2012, the idea was that very special small-batch whiskeys would be made to order in a farm-to-bottle facility using locally farmed grains, age old methods and simple pot stills. The distillery occupies the former premises of the Kentucky Ice Cream Distributors, which has proved to be an ideal location. Visitors are invited to drop by for a tour and a tasting of the brands produced on site, which include the distinctive Jefferson’s Reserve.
