The Performing Arts Center is a historic theater in downtown Leavenworth that hosts the non-profit community theater group called the River City Community Players. Formerly known as the Hollywood Theater, the building was designed by Robert Boller and built in 1937 in an Art Deco style. Part of the Dubinsky theater chain, the Hollywood Theater was Leavenworth's only movie palace and features hallmarks of a bygone era with ornate and opulent interiors. The River City Community Players produces and presents up to seven productions a year, ranging from musicals and magic shows to drama, dance recitals, and youth plays.
