The Culbertson Mansion State Historic Site is the former home of William Culbertson, who moved in search of a new life, eventually becoming one of the state’s richest men, as well as a renowned philanthropist. The historic mansion stands today in New Albany as an example of the lifestyles, ideals, and tastes of the late 1800’s. Open to the public from 10:00am until 5:00pm, Tuesday to Sunday, visitors can admire the stunning hand-painted ceilings and architecture of the Culbertson Mansion, as well as learn about the Culbertson family’s incredible story. Guided tours of the historic site area available.
