A visit to the Legacy Museum in Montgomery should be essential viewing for anyone interested in getting a better understanding of the atrocities which occurred during the grim days of slavery in America, and of the legacy slavery left behind. The museum is modern and graphically descriptive, using interactive media, videos and sculptures to fully immerse visitors in the sights and sounds of the slave trade. The museum is located on the site where Black slaves were forced to work in chains, and is just meters from the railway station used to traffic thousands of enslaved people.
