These humongous caves, located on Borneo, are so big that the famous Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris could fit inside the entrance several times over. The natural beauty of the Niah Caves is simply breathtaking, and modern humans are not the only ones to have thought so. In the 1950s and 60s, scientists discovered cave paintings in Niah Caves that date back over 1,200 years. This seemed impressive until they also found human remains in the caves, which were found to be approximately 40,000 years old. These are some of the earliest human remains to have been found in Malaysia.
