Review:

Nestled in the heart of the Fort Screven Historic District of Tybee Island, the Tybee Post Theater has been a local landmark since it was built by the US Army in 1930 to serve as a movie house. Interestingly, this theatre was one of the first in the country to be equipped with a sound system after the demise of silent movies. After many decades of neglect, the theater was rescued from the wrecker’s ball and restored to its former glory. When restorations were completed in 2015 the theater once again became an important part of the community and now hosts regular movies, concerts and other entertainment.
