Buffalo Trace Park is a charming 147-acre public park and preserve in Harrison County, Indiana, just outside the city of Palmyra. The park is located on the edge of the former Buffalo Trace bison migration trail, which was used as a frontier wagon trail during the 19th century.
Since 1971, it has been operated as a public park facility, home to the manmade Lake Coleman, a popular fishing destination throughout the year.
Visitors can enjoy opportunities for year-round outdoor recreation, including chances for hiking, tennis, boating, and disc golf.
Family-friendly activities include a public swimming beach, a petting zoo, and children's playgrounds.
Over 60 tent and RV hookup campsites are located onsite for overnight stay, along with two ADA-accessible rental cabins.
