Review:

The Grand River Museum offers a unique blend of prehistoric history, as well as Native American and early pioneer history.

Among its extraordinary attractions are two large iron sculptures, the first of which is a cowboy riding a triceratops. The second sculpture depicts the legend of Hugh Glass, who fought off a grizzly with only his knife. Inside, exhibits feature photographs, artifacts, and information about the Lakota tribe. Displays teaching about the Bismarck Deadwood Trail can also be found. Area locals and cowboys have donated heirlooms and treasures to the museum’s collection. Visitors are welcome to touch the museum’s display of fossils, which include a prehistoric pachycephalosaurus skull and buffalo skulls. Activities include adventure safaris, camps, and scavenger hunts.
