Review:

Pacena La Saltena was opened by husband and wife team Mario Torrez and Miriam Carrasco in 1983. They wanted to meet a growing demand in the community for delicious empanadas made with jigote, which is a stew made with minced meat of sorts. You’ll have to try at least one of each of the vegetarian, chicken, or beef empanadas which are seasoned with traditional Bolivian spices with a bit of hot red pepper to give it a kick. Be sure to keep some room to try out their ‘Leaf’ pastry which has a delicious filling of meat, potatoes, onions, parsley, and egg too.
