Waco is a charming city in central Texas, located along the course of the Brazos River. The city is home to the renowned Cameron Park Zoo, which showcases exhibits of lions, meerkats, and otters. A number of museums throughout the city focus on unique topics, including the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum, which details the state's law enforcement history, and the Dr. Pepper Museum, which pays tribute to the invention and legacy of the famed soft drink. Fossils of Columbian-era mammoths are on display at the Waco Mammoth National Monument, which is overseen by the National Park Service.
