Coeur d’Alene is a small northwest Idaho city on the banks of Lake Coeur d’Alene. The lake is great for all sorts of watersports and the nearby Canfield Mountain Natural Area and Coeur d’Alene National Forest offer great hiking and biking trails. Downtown McEuen Park has a nice grassy lawn for picnics and a network of trails that lead up nearby Tubbs Hill. The City Park & Beach at the lakeside has shady picnic areas and a kids’ playground. The Museum of North Idaho in downtown Coeur d’Alene tells the story about the regional history and the city's timber industry.
