Named for Ignacio Pacheco, one of the regions earliest pioneer land owners and grape growers, the Pacheco Ranch Winery was established in 1970 by Ignacio’s descendants. Today the winery is operated by Ignacio’s great-great-grandson, Herb Rowland, and is housed in the historic former Carriage House of the estate. The beautiful terraced vineyards are planted exclusively to Cabernet Sauvignon grapes and the unique and complex character of the wines is due to the ideal climatic conditions of their elevated hillside location. The winery is only open to the public by prior arrangement so visitors are advised to book an exclusive wine tasting well in advance.
