The internationally acclaimed United States Holocaust Memorial Museum highlights the story of the Holocaust through photographs, artifacts, oral histories, and films. While admission to the museum is free, timed tickets are required for the museum’s permanent exhibition. Special exhibitions, however, do not require a ticket. A self-guided permanent exhibit simply titled The Holocaust is spread across three floors and provides a chronological narrative of the event through film footage, photographs, and historical artifacts. Personal objects are also on display in the exhibition, as are eyewitness testimonies by Holocaust survivors.
