The Four Dances Recreation Area is bordered by stunning river cliffs and the Yellowstone River on the west boundary. Just a few miles away from downtown Billings, the recreation area is filled with flora and fauna native to the area including ponderosa pine, native sagebrush and Yellowstone River cottonwood riparian.

The site is a great place for wildlife watching, nature photography, and to promote environmental education; visitors who love to hike will enjoy the surroundings, especially the quarter mile footpath which leads to the top of a rimrock wall and offers panoramic views of Yellowstone River. Winter activities at Four Dances are snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. Amenities include restrooms and signage throughout the park.
