Silver City Idaho is an old mining town of the old west that did not become commercialized, burn down, or modernize. Visitors to Silver City get to travel back in time where you can horseback ride through the Owyhee Mountains and the nearby cities. There are also souvenir and book shops, places where visitors can pan for gems, art and antique shops, and more than 75 historical structures still standing from the late 19th century. Some of these structures can be toured during special events such as the annual open house over Labor Day weekend. Silver City is only two hours southwest of Boise and is a great day trip for the entire family.
