What is the history of Islands of Adventure?
- In 1985, Universal’s board of directors planned to build a shopping mall in the area where the modern-day Islands of Adventure is located. However, five years later, the mall plans were canceled.
- Shortly after, plans for Islands of Adventure were created.
- Universal Studios Florida provided guests with a Preview Center for Islands of Adventure two years before the park opened, offering a behind-the-scenes sneak peek at the park’s fundamentals.
