Review & FAQ:
Looe Key (Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary), is one of the spur and groove reefs of Big Pine and a great stop for anyone visiting the Florida Keys. The name of the reef, “Looe Key,” comes from the HMS Looe, a ship that supposedly ran aground at the reef back in 1744 whil it was towing the Snow, a captured French ship. Looe Key today makes for an excellent site for snorkeling and SCUBA for all skill levels. There are numerous species of corals and fish that can be seen in the reef.
