The park is situated in Stuart, Florida on a barrier island that is only accessible by means of a boat or kayak, even though the island is just approximately one-third of a mile across the Intracoastal. The beach at the St. Lucie Inlet Preserve State Park is certainly a reward for making the journey as the shaded boardwalk opens onto the wild, wide, pristine beach that goes on for miles.
