Go on a unique adventure when you visit the beautiful Egmont Key State Park . Historically and ecologically significant, the Egmont Key State Park has been occupied by many forces over the years such as captured Seminoles, the Union Navy in 1898, and Fort Dade until 1923. Egmont Key is also home to a historic lighthouse that was built in 1858. Today, the park is mostly home to gorgeous wildlife, but it also welcomes adventurous visitors to come to experience the park as a personal refuge as well. The island is only accessible by boat and has trails and historic sites to visit. It’s great for swimming, fishing, and picnics. As Egmont Key is a remote location, guests will need to bring their own water, food, and sunscreen when coming to the park.
