Craving a glamorous beach escape filled with sunshine, nightlife, and a splash of culture? I say, treat yourself to Miami Beach! When I first visited, I was completely taken by the Art Deco charm, the dazzling beaches, and the nonstop energy. You’ll love lounging on South Beach, strolling down Ocean Drive, or popping into one of the many museums. Whether you’re into fine dining or just soaking in the scene, Miami Beach has everything you need for a sun-drenched escape.

Best Time to Visit

I always aim for a trip between November and April. That’s when you’ll get warm, dry weather—perfect for beach days and alfresco dinners. You’ll thank yourself for skipping the sticky summer heat. Plus, if you time it right, you can catch one of the many festivals happening around town. I’ve found that this season really brings out the best of Miami Beach.

How to Get There

  • Flying in? I usually go through Miami International Airport (MIA)—it’s just a 20–30 minute ride to the beach. You could also land at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood (FLL), which is about 45 minutes away if you don’t mind the extra drive.
  • Driving instead? I’ve taken I-95 and cruised over the MacArthur or Julia Tuttle Causeways—super scenic and easy from downtown Miami. Just avoid rush hour if you can!
  • On a budget or love convenience? I’ve used the Miami Beach Trolley and local Miami-Dade buses—they’re surprisingly reliable and even free in some areas. You’ll save time and cash while still seeing the sights.

Where to Stay

  • Fontainebleau Miami Beach – I stayed here once and it felt like a movie set. It’s flashy, fun, and right on the beach—perfect if you want a big resort vibe with pools, nightlife, and glam all around you.
  • The Betsy Hotel South Beach – If you’re into something more artistic and serene, I think you’d love this spot. I couldn’t get enough of the rooftop views and live jazz in the evenings. It’s elegant but relaxed.
  • 1 Hotel South Beach – This place really impressed me. It’s got a chic, eco-luxury feel and everything—from the rooftop pool to the wellness spa—just made me feel taken care of. If you value sustainability and style, you’ll feel right at home.
