The Surratt House Museum in Clinton, Maryland is a historic house operated by the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission, as well as the Prince George’s County Parks and Recreation Department.

When it opened in May of 1976, it was Prince George’s County’s first public historic house museum. The Visitor Center houses photographs and artifacts associated with the story of the Surrat family and the assassination of Abraham Lincoln, including a map that highlights John Wilkes Booth’s escape route. The Surrat house was where weapons and supplies for the plot to kidnap Lincoln were hidden and where Booth first stopped as he fled.
