The National New York Central Railroad Museum is a railroad museum in Elkhart that is dedicated to the preservation of the New York Central Railroad (NYC).
The family-friendly museum features several outdoor displays of railroad equipment such as steam, diesel, and electric locomotives and a 1974 caboose, indoor model railroads, and a variety of railroad-related artifacts.
Signature items in the museum include a freight house built in 1907 and a modified NYC 20th Century Limited train set. The museum also features several informative educational displays that explore the history of the railroad and how its development helped develop and shape the city.
