Founded in 1985 through the efforts of a local police officer, Officer Kenneth Deck, the Toledo Police Museum is dedicated to the brave men and women in uniform who bravely serve the city of Toledo, as well as preserving the history of the Toledo Police Force.
The museum settled into its new home at the former Ottawa Park Nature Center in 2010, where it now offers visitors the opportunity to step back in time to the different eras of the police force. Guests can take a look inside a 1948 police wagon replica, read through displays that highlight important events in the TPD’s history, get their mugshot taken, and even experience what it’s like to get locked up in a jail cell.
The museum also has plenty of heartwarming and also heart-wrenching exhibits like the Our Fallen exhibit, the Postal Dog Wonder, Bum the First Police Dog, and the Black and Blue exhibit.
