The John Brown House Museum allows guests to take a step back in time to the 18th century, when the post-Revolutionary War United States was progressing.
The house was originally built in 1788 by wealthy businessman and slave trader John Brown.
He was one of the most influential men in the state and enjoyed great wealth and political clout.
Visitors will learn about Rhode Island's role in U.S. history through some of the nation's most controversial topics of the times - slavery, the American Revolution, and trade with China.
Both docent-led and audio self-guided audio tours are available Tuesdays through Fridays.
