Review:

The architecture of the White Horse Tavern truly epitomizes colonial Newport. The beautifully preserved historic building is the oldest operating restaurant in the US, and has been serving guests since 1673. The warm and inviting interior of the tavern boasts many 17th century elements including giant beams and huge fireplaces, which form the backdrop to your dining experience. The food is modern American, and far removed from what you would have been offered back in the 17th century. The menu starts off with Raw Bar favorites, salads, soups and appetizers. Then come the house specialties which include Beef Wellington, Crispy Duck Breast, Pan Seared Scallops and Lobster Ravioli, to name but a few.
