Owned and operated by the Glastonbury Historical Society, the Museum on the Green preserves and showcases a treasure-trove of local history. Starting with the Wangunk, who were the First Peoples in the area, exhibits span several centuries, covering early colonization, slavery, Abolition, European immigration and everything in between. The museum is housed in the former Town Hall, which dates back to 1840. The Glastonbury Historical Society hosts a number of interesting walking tours throughout the year where you can learn all about the historic background of Glastonbury. Other fun and educational events include Harvest Day celebration and guided Green Cemetery Tours.
