Best Time to Visit Whittier, CA
From my experience, spring through fall (March–October) is the best time to visit. You’ll have warm, sunny days that are ideal for hiking, shopping, and enjoying community events. I’ve gone in winter too—it’s quieter and still pleasant, just with the chance of a little rain here and there.
How to Get to Whittier, CA
- Driving in? I usually hop on I-605 or I-5—it’s about a 25-minute drive from downtown Los Angeles. You’ll find it easy to reach but far enough out to feel like a real escape.
- Flying in? I’ve flown into both LAX and Long Beach Airport (LGB), and either works well. You’ll be in Whittier within 30–40 minutes by car—it’s a smooth ride either way.
- Using public transit? I’ve taken Metro and Foothill Transit buses—they’re reliable and connect you to the LA area pretty well. It’s a good option if you’re not driving, especially for short visits.
