Review:

Built by Raymundo Olivas back in 1841 after receiving a land grant from Juan Alvarado, the Olivas Adobe sits on the Santa Clara River’s north bank in Ventura, California. The original adobe home was expanded in 1849 from one story to two, which makes it the only building of its kind within the area. The Olivas Adobe was added in 1979 to the National Register of Historic Places and is a California Historical Landmark. The house today features period furnishings, photographs of the Olivas family, and its own chapel, and the grounds feature a garden with 100-year-old fuchsia.
