The Pacific Marine Mammal Centerrescues, takes care of, and releases marine mammals back into their natural habitats and is one of the best things to do in Laguna Beach, California. Established as Friends of the Sea Lion in 1971, the marine mammal rehabilitation facility was the first of its kind in California.
In 1976, the center moved into a facility that was owned by the city of Laguna Beach and had been used by the local SPCA. If you are wondering what to do in Laguna Beach with kids, this is a great place to visit. The center cares for California sea lions, Northern elephant seals, Northern fur seals, and Pacific harbor seals that are found stranded along the beaches of Orange County, and it offers a wide variety of education programs for children and adults.
