Nestled in the Alum Rock Canyon, Alum Rock Park is one of the oldest municipal parks in California. It covers a massive 720 acres of rugged outdoor recreational areas which include hiking, biking and equestrian trails, picnic areas, lawns and a children’s playground. The park is home to a variety of small animals and reptiles and is a great spot for some relaxed bird and wildlife watching (for this reason dogs are not allowed in Alum Rock Park). There are several picnic areas which can be booked and are ideal for family get-togethers and children’s parties. During the summer months the park offers youth summer camps and guided nature walks for all ages.
