Review:
Sierra Vista Open Space Preserve is a nature preserve that is located within the Eastern Foothills of Santa Clara County, in the city of San Jose, California. The preserve offers visitors sweeping and stunning views of the Valley; it also provides the opportunity to experience diverse landscapes with trips through chaparral communities, rolling grasslands, and oak woodlands. Perched just above Alum Rock Park, the preserve offers watershed protection for Penitencia Creek. It’s also home to numerous protected wildlife species, such as the American Badger, Western burrowing owl, California tiger salamander, and California red-legged frog. The Aquila Loop Trail is a pretty mellow hike that is perfect for families with children and beginners.
