The Corona del Mar State Beach (aka Big Corona Beach) offers near-perfect conditions for a day of family fun on the beach. The beach is about half a mile long and is backed by pretty cliffs, which make it a popular site for film makers – you may even recognize it from some movies you have seen.

Popular activities on this beach include surfing (Corona del Mar hosted the first major surfing competition back in 1928), swimming, sun bathing and beach volleyball. The beach offers good areas for picnicking, and some grassy sites with BBQ grills. The beach is fairly protected and is great for children.
