Langer's Deli was originally opened in Los Angeles in 1947 as a 12-seat deli and diner across from MacArthur Park, founded by its namesake Al Langer. Today, the James Beard Foundation Award-winning restaurant has expanded its service to 135 seats and is overseen by Al's son Norm, who began working at the restaurant in 1963. Timeless deli and diner classics are served up daily, including the restaurant's signature hot pastrami platters and sandwiches, available in a variety of inventive preparations. House specialties include grilled liver and onions, hot brisket dinners, corned beef and cabbage, and elegantly-presented New York and skirt steaks. Diners can also choose from globally-inspired specialties such as cheese blintzes, potato pancakes, and kasha varnishes or customize their own hot, cold, or French dip sandwiches.
