Offering an immersive glimpse into the Native American history and culture of Santa Clara County, the Chitactac-Adams Heritage County Park is a must-see attraction for history lovers. The park covers 4.5 acres and is conveniently located just a few minutes from Gilroy. Here you can learn about how the early residents of the area lived around 3000 years ago when the land was the traditional home of the Ohlone tribe and was called Chitactac. Today the park includes the Uvas Creek which is rich in petrogylphs and cultural artifacts and the Adams School, which was in used from 1850 to 1956. Self-guided interpretive trails explain the story.
