Sierra National Forest is a U.S. National Forest located on the western slope of central Sierra Nevada in Central California. Bordered by the Kings Canyon National Park on the south and Yosemite National Park on the northwest, the Sierra National Forest spans more than 1,300,000 acres with altitudes ranging from 900 to 13,986 feet in elevation. Renowned for its incredible natural resources and breathtaking mountain scenery, the terrain includes undulating oak-covered foothills, densely forested middle slopes and tundra landscape of the High Sierra. The forest comprises several scenic attractions, including Nelder Grove, Fresno Dome, and several reservoirs for fishing such as Courtright Reservoir, Bass Lake, and Wishon Reservoir. The forest also provides excellent hiking trails and ski slopes in the winter months.
