The Cupertino Historical Society is focused on preserving the history and tradition of Cupertino for generations to come so that everyone is able to understand and share the area’s diverse and rich culture. The historical society was founded back in 1966, with the Cupertino Historical Society Museum opening much later in the year 1990. The museums contains around three thousand artifacts that span more than one hundred years of the history of Cupertino, including business, home life, education, agriculture, and settlement among other topics. The purpose of the Cupertino Historical Society is to "Create a Passion for history.”
