If you’re dreaming of a laid-back but polished beach escape, let me tell you—Manhattan Beach is one of my favorite go-to spots in Southern California. Just minutes from LAX, it’s the perfect place to kick off your shoes, soak up the sun, and still enjoy the perks of upscale shopping, great food, and oceanfront vibes. Whether I’m cruising the Strand or savoring seafood at sunset, I always leave feeling refreshed and a little spoiled—in the best way.

Best Time to Visit

I usually aim for March through October when the weather is warm, the skies are clear, and the ocean breeze is just right. You’ll love how every day feels like summer—even in spring or fall. It’s perfect for long walks, beach picnics, or patio dining with a view.

How to Get There

  • If you are traveling by car: I often take CA-1 (Pacific Coast Highway)—it’s an easy drive, especially if you’re coming from LAX (just 10–15 minutes) or downtown L.A. (about 30 minutes). You’ll be beachside in no time.
  • By Air: I love how close Manhattan Beach is to LAX. Once I land, I’m usually at the beach with a drink in hand within 20 minutes. Rideshares make it super convenient.
  • By Public Transit: I’ve used Metro buses and Beach Cities Transit when I wanted to skip driving. If you're coming from farther out, hop on the Metro C Line and connect from there—it’s simple and scenic.

Where to Stay

  • Shade Hotel Manhattan Beach – I stayed here for a quick getaway and loved the rooftop vibe, delicious cocktails, and how close everything was. You’ll enjoy the boutique luxury without feeling stuffy.
  • The Sea View Inn at the Beach – This one’s perfect when I want something cozy and close to the water. You’ll wake up to ocean views and be on the sand in just a few steps.
  • Westdrift Manhattan Beach, Autograph Collection – I booked a stay here for a little pampering. With a pool, golf, and sleek rooms, it’s a resort-style experience that still keeps the beach casual. You’ll love it if you’re looking to relax in style.
