The capital of Ishikawa Prefecture on Honshu Island, the city of Kanazawa was once a prominent castle town and is known for beautiful gardens, good museums, historical buildings, and a good helping of traditional Japanese culture. The best way to learn all about Kanazawa is to set off on one of several walking tours that will introduce you to the history and culture of the town. The Samurai Walk includes visits to the Myoryuji Temple, a typical samurai house, and the beautiful Kenrokuen Garden, while the Traditional Kanazawa Walk includes a traditional tea ceremony and wearing a kimono.
